Did someone say male virgin?

This is my second book by RN. I just adored the first book in this series so I just couldn't wait to read the next book. If you've read book 1 the characters will be all too familiar for you in this next installment. I love the way the author interjects humor into her work and it is somewhat reminiscent of Ruth Hartman's work. The main difference being that Ruth Hartman writes clean books and I assure you that in this series so far that is not the case. I do no mean to imply that you find it on every page, indeed that is not the case. The author takes the time to establish a bond between her characters and it is not just mere infatuation or lust but a natural occurrence between two people who care and yearn for the other.
I'm giving this book a 3 and 1/2 star rating as I did love the pair together I think the reviewer who labeled her review Bashful Duke...was a bit of an understatement. While the Duke of Ashbourne (Camden) did go after his lady Helena Walter was the man in that relationship. Yes Camden was adorable and had strong character. He was weak and had a low self esteem. I like my duke's, earl's men in general to have a moment where they shine. That moment where they show that they are in deed a MAN. Camden delivered when it came to pleasing Helena on the desk, in the bedroom (wherever the couple chose) but I would have liked to see a bit more confidence.
Even with that being the case I cannot deny that the book was a good read for me. The author did a good job explaining why Camden thought so little of himself and why it was not a "pressure" to talk to people. LOL. That is a play on words the author used in her story the word is substituted for pleasure. It is still a cute read and the humor and integrity of her characters were most enjoyable.

A light romance

This is a cute book by Ruth Ann Nordin. I have read quite a few of her books, and she often writes about somewhat childish men (I can't actually think of a hero of hers that isn't childish in some way), which in many ways separates her from other romance novelists who prefer to write about worldly and macho heroes, and in this way I think her books are often a nice change of pace. In this book, though, Ms. Nordin's character is naive and innocent and sweet, and very endearing. I wish there had been a bit more passion between the main characters before the marriage, and that part seemed harder for me to believe, but overall, this is a sweet and hopeful story about a man who can't attract women the usual way, and I enjoyed it.

He is so virginal in all aspects of life that his luck was in when he went to her, small wonder she ended up being the wife he needed!
